Term 3 2009

In year 3 we are working on 'connections'.

We are looking at the connections within Antarctic animals. We'll be looking at food chain and life cycles. We will be working with a buddy to answer a key question. Some of us will be presenting this in a keynote presentation.

Mathematics - Statistics - Addition & Subtraction -Multiplication & Division.

Keep working on those basic facts.

Book week is week 5. Start thinking about your outfit for the character parade. Think about your favourite book. Bring it in to share with the class.

What a fantastic day we had at Rothesay Bay!

An enormous Pinehill thank you to all of the parents that gave up their time to come and help us.

The highlight of the day for most of the children was getting in the water and having a swim. It was great to see the confidence your children have in the water.

Cerita

Di dalam sebuah hutan, terdapat seekor singa yang menganggap dirinya sebagai raja rimba.

Ia sering memperkecil-kecilkan kebolehan haiwan lain. Ia berasa megah kerana menganggap

dirinya lebih kuat dan gagah daripada haiwan-haiwan lain. Haiwan lain terpaksa hormat dan

patuh kepadanya.

Pada suatu hari, singa pergi berjalan-jalan di tepi laut. Tiba-tiba ia ternampak seekor ikan

lumba-lumba sedang berenang-renang.

"Sungguh cantik gaya ia berenang. Tentu ia juga seekor ikan yang gagah kerana badannya sangat

besar" fikir singa.

Ketika ikan lumba-lumba berenang ke tepi pantai, singa terus memanggilnya.

"Bolehkah saya berkawan dengan kamu?" tanya singa.

"Saya sungguh gembira kerana kamu yang gagah ingin berkawan dengan saya" kata ikan lumba-

lumba dengan gembira.

"Kamu juga seekor ikan yang gagah. Kamu juga boleh melompat dengan baik. Kamu boleh isytiharkan

diri kamu sebagai raja di laut. Selepas ini kita mesti tolong-menolong. Saya akan tolong kamu ketika

kamu susah dan kamu mesti tolong saya ketika saya ada masalah" kata singa. Ikan lumba-lumba

bersetuju dengan cadangan singa.

Pada suatu hari, singa telah menghadapi masalah. Seekor lembu jantan yang besar ingin

beradu tenaga dengannya. Lembu itu berasa marah kerana singa telah membaham seekor

anaknya. Singa berasa takut lalu ia pergi mencari sahabatnya, si ikan lumba-lumba.

"Wahai sahabat, kamu mesti menolong saya. Saya ingin kamu beradu tenaga dengan seekor lembu

jantan. Ia ingin mencabar kuasa saya tetapi saya kurang sihat. Bolehkah kamu tolong saya?" tanya singa.

"Maafkan saya. Saya tidak boleh menolong kamu. Saya tidak boleh beradu tenaga dengan lembu itu

kerana saya tidak boleh hidup di darat. Saya hanya boleh hidup di dalam air" kata ikan lumba-lumba.

Singa berasa marah apabila mendengar kata-kata sahabatnya. Singa menuduh ikan lumba-

lumba sengaja memungkiri janji mereka. Ia berlalu dari situ dengan perasaan marah.

Moral: Jangan memaksa orang lain membuat sesuatu perkara yang tidak mampu dilakukan.

Holiday Trip

HOLIDAY
On Saturday at 9:30 am, my family and I went to Mount Ruapehu to play snow. I was trying to do snow man but I didn’t know how to do snow man with that snow. After that I had drunk some hot water. My fathers borrowed sled, we have played together with my dad, my mum and my sisters. We were so happy.

Winter cold !!!!

On Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock my family and I went to Mount Reupahu to play snow. I want to do snowman but I did not know how to do it. So, I just did a small snow ball and threw it to my sister, Azi and my little sister Anis.

After that we drank hot water and ate some fresh chip. Later, my dad borrowed a sled and we together had fun playing with it.

Then, after 4 hours we spent our time there, we went back and I was so hungry. Fortunately my dad brought some food for us.

I was so happy and hope my family will go to Mount Reupahu again. J
